Can you guess which one it is? From a visual standpoint, the place is amazing. As far as farming goes… Sholazar Basin was arguably the best gathering spot during the WotLK era — leather, mining nodes, herbs… all bountiful. Sholazar is one magical place. I would have had a more positive take on the basin, if not for the fact that on my last few visits there, whole groups of fully geared Alliance players each were ganking single Horde players almost routinely, obviously farming for honor.
Once you hit The Fleshworks, it will reveal on your map. On the map, you will see a long curving road that splits and then rejoins. You will need to take the road that splits off to go further south on your map. On the map, next to that road, you will see a small, round platform or ledge.
You want to make your way down to that ledge, then jump off the left side of it. That will put you on a large glacier leading southward. Follow that glacier all the way down.
There is a drop-off on the right side of the glacier, so you may want to be careful, but it's not too dangerous. When the glacier begins to level out, you will see the area to walk become narrower, and on the right, the drop-off will have two protruding "bumps" for lack of a better word. The second bump is right above the roof for the Maker's Overlook in Sholazar Basin.
If you go to the left side of the bump, you can actually walk right off the glacier onto the roof. That is when you will get the exploration credit.
But please be careful as you approach the edge of the drop-off. If you accidentally cross over into Sholazar Basin territory, your ghost will lose his mount, and your ghost will fall down to the floor of Sholazar basin. However, if you stay on the ground mounted but not flying and you get to close and lose your mount, as long as you can just take a few steps back into Icecrown, you will get your ghost mount back.
Comment by whosurdady or loan a gryphon from k3 : at 77 for icecrown sholazar and storm peaks :. Comment by gardai Just a tip, if you haven't got a flying mount, and haven't done the quest Reconnaissance Flight, use the plane you get to control and explore the Maker's Overlook and the other place above ground level.
Comment by trillz At level 6 I discovered Maker's Perch at Going for Maker's Overlook last. Comment by electrocute Link to a Map , since no one has posted one. Pretty great atucally. And then im only level Comment by Nacosz As a rogue I was actually able to sneak throught the avalanche up to the Makers Overlook, it was quite easy to be honest.
I pulled aggro once in the begin, but I managed to get away by using vanish. The second time I got aggro was when I was almost at the end, so I just popped evasion and sprint and managed to survive with still over half HP left.
Comment by DrVitoti Ok I've got everything in NT except the suntouched pillar, I can't seem to find a way to explore it without a flying mount i'm lvl 73 If anyone can tell me how I'd be super grateful.
Thx in advance. BTW, I can see everything in the map, since I explored the goblin digsite, but in the achievemnts window it doesn't show suntouched pillar as explored. Comment by SylvanElf Distract also helps a lot for rogues too, since undead perceive stealth a little higher than normal mobs.
If you point them away you can slip right by a la Obi-wan Kenobi Comment by windjammer72 The Maker's Overlook is at 80,54 not 81, All you have to do is swim from Borean Thundra directly to The Stormwrights shelf a then just die : be carefull, you have to be in Sholazar Basin area.
Drown yourself a you will appear on graveyard up on the mountain behind the Makers Perch, just jump down and thats it:. Comment by dreamgarden This is kostermw's list with the zone IDs added.

Better put in exploration, but anyways nice find! This is more of an exploit as its a way to bypass the flying mount requirement. I did a search, and its not a repost. I thought you couldn't walljump anymore, haha.
The loaner flight mount only works in SP, Icecrown or Sholozar i think. Pretty neat regardless. Replies: 7 Last Post: , AM. Replies: 1 Last Post: , PM. Get to know Flying mounts! By Elites in forum World of Warcraft General.
